The Ninth Sunday After Pentecost

In today’s sermon, Fr. Cannon contrasts Herod’s kingdom of fear with Jesus’ Kingdom of Heaven in the story of the fishes and the loaves.  Matthew’s Gospel shows us that a miracle has occurred, but it is a miracle that is both amazing and ordinary.  We are called to collect the gifts that we have and to offer them up to God for his blessing.  They will be enough.

Today’s readings are Isaiah 55:1-5; Romans 9:1-5 and the Gospel According to Matthew 14:13-21.  You can follow along with our online bulletin which may be found by clicking here.
