Vera Farmen (2028)

Vera Farmen has been a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church since moving to Tampa in 2004. She currently serves on the Altar Guild, Flower Guild, and the Hospitality Committee, and has previously volunteered as a Newborn Ministry co-chair, Vacation Bible School teacher, and Circle co-host.

Vera attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where she majored in International Business and French.

Vera is married to Chris Farmen, and together they have three children, Alexis, Andrew, and William, who were all confirmed at St. John’s. Each of their children attended St. John’s Episcopal Parish Day School, representing 17 consecutive years as a St. John’s family, and all three served as acolytes during their time at the church.

During their years at St. John’s Episcopal Parish Day School, Vera  was an active and dedicated volunteer, serving twice on the Parents’ Club Board, as a homeroom parent, and assisting with numerous school events and activities.

Since 2010, Vera has owned and operated Fruit of the Vine Organics and Vera’s Homemade, bringing both fresh organic produce and homemade chocolate chip cookies to the Tampa Bay area.

She is grateful for the faith community of St. John’s and values the relationships, service, and spiritual growth the parish has provided to her family. Vera would be honored to continue serving the church as a member of the vestry.
