St. John’s Children’s and Family Ministry offers many lively, spirit-filled activities.

Children’s Chapel

During each week’s 9:30 a.m. service during the school year, from the Gospel procession to the Peace, Children’s Chapel takes place in the Parish Hall. Children will begin in the main service in the Church, and then follow an acolyte out to the Parish Hall before the Gospel procession.

Children’s Chapel is a kid-friendly version of the liturgy from the main church service. We’ll sing a few songs, hear a children’s sermon, and have a child-led Prayers of the People. The children will return to the main church service at the Peace. This also takes place during the school year.

Sunday School

All Children and Youth Sunday School participants (Pre-K through 12th graders) come up to receive Communion first . They then exit into the church office hallway and check in at the Sunday School check-in table near the office door. After check in, students will go to their respective Sunday School classrooms. Parents can pick their children up from their classrooms at 11:15 a.m.

VBS 2025

VBS registration is open! St. John’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be July 28 through August 1. This year’s theme is True North–where kids get to go on the ultimate Alaskan adventure, exploring how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today, but remembering Jesus is our True North!

VBS is for potty-trained 3-year-olds through rising 4th graders, and the cost is $40 per child for the week. We’ll meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Parish Hall Monday through Friday that week for a fun week of games, crafts, and faith. Don’t miss out the chance to grab your spot—sign up here today!
