Confirmation takes place each spring in St. John's. We have both youth and adult confirmation classes that take place during the spring semester.
Confirmation is a sacrament established during the days of the early church, which is intricately linked to the sacraments of baptism and eucharist. In fact, in the days of the early church the three sacraments were considered inseparable. You were baptized, confirmed and then received the eucharist all in one service. This practice has been transformed over the years, but the key to understanding confirmation are its beginning (baptism) and end (eucharist). Baptism is the beginning of the Christian journey, the eucharist is the soul's nourishment along the way, and confirmation is our mature affirmation of the church's teachings and the church's confirmation that we are indeed followers of Christ.
If you would like more information on being confirmed, please contact the parish offices today.
