The Altar Guild works behind the scenes to prepare the altar and church for services of worship, including weddings and funerals. They are responsible for changing altar hangings; working with candles, brass, and vestments; preparing for Holy Eucharist; organizing and restocking books in the pews; and arranging the flowers that adorn the altar. Some members who work at home wash and iron the linens used on the altar. Other members deliver altar flowers after the service on Sunday. This compassionate ministry brings the joy of flowers to those who are ill, homebound, or hospitalized. |
