EFM is an international program of theological study by extension administered through the School Theology at the University of the South. Every baptized Christian is called to ministry, and the intent of EFM is to equip the laity to effectively answer that call.

Groups of six to twelve participants meet every Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Peterson room at the Middle School for worship, prayer, sharing of reflections emanating from a structured four-year program of self-study, discussion of common lessons, and theological reflection. St. John's Parish currently sponsors the only EFM group in the Tampa Bay area.
