Dear Parishioners,
100 Years Ago: In 1912, the founders of our parish laid the cornerstone upon which our magnificent parish now stands. St. John's Church is able to celebrate its centennial through the grace of God and the faithfulness of prior generations to St. John's.
100 Years From Now: In 2112, where will St. John's be? What will that future generation of parishioners think of ours? How will we have cared for and fostered the gifts that God has bestowed upon us?
Psalm 100: For the 2012 Every Member Canvass, we have selected the theme of "Faithful to all Generations," which is taken from Psalm 100, verse 5: "For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations."
It is in our church that we receive the Real Presence of Christ. Our parish's founders gave us this blessed place to come together to worship and glorify the Lord. It is now up to all of us to not only take the time to reflect and give thanks for that which we have been given, but to be faithful to the next generation by continuing to nurture and grow our St. John's parish.
100 Percent: Parishioner giving accounts for 100% of the parish's budget. This means that it really takes every member to make sure that we continue to nurture and grow St. John's parish.
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow - Faithful to All Generations: As you and your family take some prayerful time in considering your financial gift to St. John's, we ask that you reflect on these words - Faithful to all Generations. We would not have St. John's in our lives and in our community without the loving sacrifice of all of those who came before us. It is now our responsibility. Our responsibility to continue to care for and to grow this parish. Our responsibility to make the same loving sacrifice to St. John's.
Please join us and your fellow parishioners in answering the call and making sure that St. John's not only survives but flourishes in the next 100 years so that our loved ones' loved ones' will have a place to worship and glorify the Lord.
Ever faithfully,
Leslie Jennewein Bill Sansone
