Safeguarding God's Children

Safeguarding God's Children, while mandated by our church insurance company, our Vestry, and the Diocese, the SGC program is actually designed to equip parents and family members with the information they need to protect our youngest family members from becoming a victim of a molester.

One in four girls and one in eight boys will be abused by the time they are eighteen years old.  We use films, workbook and discussion to explore the material.  All paid staff members of our Church and School, all those who work with youth and children, anyone in a position of authority such as Vestry, School Board, Stephens Minister, LEV, etc. are required to take the training within 6 months of assuming their position.  However, everyone is welcome to attend.
