Our Gospel reading for this morning is from the final chapter of Luke. [Ch. 24] In this chapter, Luke wants to assure us of three things: Jesus's prophetic credibility, the reality of his resurrection, and his continuing desire to bless his followers then and now.
When Jesus was taken prisoner, his disciples deserted him and fled. During the crucifixion, they watched from a distance. Later, they gathered behind locked doors in fear.
