Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lay Eucharistic Ministers, or chalice bearers, administer the elements of Holy Communion in the church, under the supervision of clergy, when a sufficient number of clergy are not available for a particular service. Because of the qualifications required, there is an application and interview procedure for these ministries. Lay Readers and Lay Eucharistic Ministers must be licensed by the Bishop of the Diocese of Southwest Florida after the approval of the Rector and the Vestry. Training is provided.
